Black Pearl Philippines presents: Malayang Musika at Sining
Radio Republic is a free online streaming music channel that plays 100% OPM all the time forever! My ridiculously talented boyfriend, musician/director JM Quiblat, directs three of their shows. Tune in to one of them tonight, Rock Bato, hosted by Basti Artadi of Wolgang; it’s the “GUITARMAGEDDON” special at 9PM.
Here’s some fanart. An “old world” style Radio Republic insignia:
“Republika ng Radyo ng Malayang Musika ng Mamayanan ng Pilipinas”
It’s based on this Philippine stamp circa 1900-1901:
Additional ornamental symbols inspired by our tropical archipelagic country of water and sunshine.

Digital dress-up! Today my mind is in Amazon jungle. Obviously this is only a pale shade of McQueen, whom I adore to pieces. Have you seen the shipwreck dress and the dress made out of real fresh flowers?

I was originally wearing a white dress with gemstone green Freshlook colored contact lens. Thank you to Hairport Salon (Presidents Ave., BF Homes, Parañaque) for my curly locks!

I love vintage scientific illustrations. They remind me that back in the day, prior to the invention of the camera and the typewriter, scientists had to be more than just smart. They had to go out into the unknown wilderness to study specimens, so they had to be hardy explorers with survival skills. They had to record their discoveries manually, so they needed to have patience, good penmanship, and artistic skills. They were Renaissance men!
A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.

If you love vintage prints and illustrations too, Bibliodyssey is a good place to start. :)

I’m wearing brilliant blue Freshlook colored contact lenses— very pretty and vividly colored and comfortable and medically certified. Hurray for safe eye accessories. ;)
Thank you to my BFF Drei for the photo! :D

I’m wearing brilliant blue Freshlook colored contact lenses— very pretty and comfortable and medically certified. Hurray for safe eye accessories! ;) They weren’t kidding about “brilliant”, these contacts really pop out and give you that Memoirs-of-a-Geisha-esque look if you’re a light-skinned dark-haired Asian girl like I am. ^_^
